A Coooold Haloween

2 comment(s)

It's a cold Halloween today. I'm gonna get some candy for the the kids, but I don't expect anyone coming to the house. It's in the mid 40's right now, but the wind chill is knocking it down to a brutal 37 degrees.
This windy weather should consist throughout the day and keep the wind chills very chilly. We'll warm up tomorrow with highs in the 50's.

A Few Tidbits.....

Yeah! CoCoRaHS almost has every state on the list! Minnesota will be joining this year, and then we'll have every single state reporting weather data! :)
1"+ hail to be classifed as severe?
Here is an article about that issue. Click HERE to read it.
A Warm and Dry September
I was looking at some of the other Wisconsin NWS sites and found out how dry and warm it was in the Green Bay area. Take a look:
At Green Bay, total rainfall for the month was 1.22 inches. September 2009 will go down in the record books as the 14th driest September on record. September 2009 did not make the top 30 warmest Septembers on record at Green Bay.
At Rhinelander, total rainfall for the month was 0.64 inches and was the 3rd driest September on record. Only 1976 with 0.40 inches and 1989 with 0.57 inches were drier. September 2009 will go down in the record books as the 15th warmest September on record.
At Wausau, it was the driest September on record. The previous driest September on record was 0.43 inches set in 1952. September 2009 will go down in the record books as the 17th warmest September on record.
Not the wettest September on record! :)

CHILLY!

I just came back from Florida, and I was "changed" by the incredibly warmer temperatures. I had forgotten about fall coming in Wisconsin. Even in Georgia, people were complaining about temperatures in the 50's. Before heading for Wisconsin, I took a quick stop to visit my bros in Indiana. Oh man, was it cold! I guess I learned my lesson for not packing a jacket while traveling! :P

I'm back in good ol' frosted Wisconsin now. A frost advisory was in effect for areas east of the Lake Michigan shore. I'm getting back to work tomorrow, so that gives me enough time to warm back up! :P

It'll be getting warmer as the week progresses, however. The low today will be in the upper 40's to lower 50's and tomorrow's high will be in the upper 50's to extreme lower 60's.

COCORAHS GALORES!
Along with the "warmer" weather is an excellent chance of rain. Rain is possible in the afternoon today and heavy rain is likely during the nightime hours. More rain will come again Friday afternoon and night, too! That stuff could last into Saturday, also.

I made a new banner. I hope you all like it.
