Quick Storm Update

I have time for a quick update; I'm really busy. The snow has just begun falling heavily. Here is an update map from the NWS! Looks very messy.

Blizzard Warnings have been issued for some areas of SE Wisconsin. The rest of the area is under a Winter Storm Warning. Stay tuned....I might be able to squeeze in another post later tonight.

Winter Storm Info....

OK, I'll talk about some of the statistics of the Tuesday night- Wednesday storm.

*First off, we are now under a Winter Storm Warning. However, it is possible it might be upgraded to a Blizzard Warning.

*Many of the models take the low pressure south of Chicago which would make a perfect scenario for a huge snow storm for southeast Wisconsin.

*The NAM is taking the low a little north of Chicago and almost entering SE Wisconsin. If that happened, we would still get very good amounts of snow, but some rain would mix in with the storm, lessening the amounts.

*With most of the other models in agreement, I think the NAM's forecast will be a little less likely.

*As of now, my forecast for the snowfall totals by Wednesday afternoon could be from 9-13" of snow. Even more snow is possible in some locations.

*Winds are also forecasted to be pretty strong thus possiblly upgrading the storm watch to a BLIZZARD warning soon.
-------
OK, now that I said that, I'm not saying rain mixing with the snow is out of the question. I'm still a little anxious to see what the NAM and other models say later. Areas very near the shore will have a little warmer conditions thus rain chances would be better there.

As I said before, strong winds are coming into the question. Blowing snow would make the storm even worse for travel. If the winds do become strong enough, that would warrant a Blizzard Warning.
-------
I made a simple map explaining where the current forecast of low track is:

This is a little rough, but I didn't have time to make a really fancy-schmancy map, so it'll do.

WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED!

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for all of SE Wisconsin for Tuesday night and Wednesday. I am expecting it to be upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning or even a Blizzard Warning.

As of now, snow totals could be from 9-12". This is our first significant winter storm to hit the area.

Stay tuned to WeatherScout. Now that we have a new website up, you can either come back here for updates or www.WeatherScout.Net as we will be updating both.

Accumulating Snow Sunday? Major Winter Storm Next Week?

We are gonna have 2 chances for accumulating snow, and one could result being a major winter storm!

Accumulating Snow Sunday
It looks as if some accumulating snow will be posssible late Sunday night and Monday. As of now, it looks as if the northern parts of SE Wisconsin will pick up the most snow (around 2-5") while the other locatins in SE Wisconsin will probably be cursed with less snow (1-3"). Stay tuned.....

Major Winter Storm Tuesday- Wednesday?
It sure looks like it! The models are pointing to a big winter storm late Tuesday and Wednesday. I'd say the final amounts of snow at the end of the storm could pile up from 5-9" of snow, as of now. However, this is far away, and the storm could strengthen, weaken, or change its path. Stay tuned to WeatherScout for updates as the storm time comes closer to the area.

Winter Weather Advisory; WeatherScout Online!

A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for the area from now till midnight. Most areas could pick up from 1-3" of snow with some areas near the border possibly picking up 2-4" of snow. Please stay tuned.
-----
I have once again posted up a website for WeatherScout. At the end of the construction process, we should have maps, forecasts, updates, archived data, and some more. Also, when I hope to get a weather station set up this year, I'll try to add LIVE data from the station. In addition to having a banner for you on the top of the blog to click to redirect to the page, the URL is www.weatherscout.net. Thank you! Suggestions are always welcomed.

First Snow This Week?

Winter is setting on upon us fast....quite fast. And when winter comes, so does snow! Now, as of now, no heavy accumulating snow is predicted, but a light covering of snow could blanket the area Wednesday night and into Thanksgiving.

The light snow could start entering the area Wednesday and continue for many hours. It will be mixed with rain, so very little accumulation if anything is predicted.

He he, made me a new banner for the blog. Along with the graphics, I also took the background picture myself instead of stealing it from Google. :P

I Was Going To Watch the Meteor Showers.

.....but I didn't. I set the alarm clock for 3 AM, but was saddened when I saw cloudy skies.

PROJECT: Weather Icons

......I've been messing around with my graphics program lately. I've a few banners that will probably be added to the blog soon. But the main project I have going computer-wise is making my own weather icons. So far, I've made a regular cloud, a sun, a storm cloud, and a sad attempt to make rain, and lightning. I have a few tricks up my sleeve, though, and I hope to get the entire mission done in a month. Wish me luck! :)

CHILLY NOVEMBER WEATHER

It certainly is chilly, but not chilly enough for snow. We have a good chance of rain on Wednesday/ Wednesday night. I'm just hoping we receive snow on December 1st again! We must keep tradition. :P

Like my new signoff? ;)

A Coooold Haloween

It's a cold Halloween today. I'm gonna get some candy for the the kids, but I don't expect anyone coming to the house. It's in the mid 40's right now, but the wind chill is knocking it down to a brutal 37 degrees.
This windy weather should consist throughout the day and keep the wind chills very chilly. We'll warm up tomorrow with highs in the 50's.
